Principal Investigator
Zahide Pamir, PhD
Zahide Pamir is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Graduate Program at Bilkent University. She completed her doctorate studies in Neuroscience at Bilkent University. Dr. Pamir received her BA degree in Psychology from Bilkent University and her MS degree in Cognitive Science from the Middle East Technical University. Before joining Bilkent, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School.

PhD Students
Mehmet Onur Keleş
Onur has completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Middle East Technical University and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at Bilkent University. His research interests revolve around visual perception, consciousness, and neuroplasticity. His research experience includes psychophysics, EEG, eye tracking, and brain stimulation techniques. He aims to further investigate visual perception and neuroplasticity, with a particular interest in visual masking and abnormal development.

Öykü Melikoğlu
Öykü completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. Her master’s research focused on hardware accelerators, and she previously worked as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering at Ankara Medipol University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. under the supervision of Zahide Pamir. Her research interests include neuroplasticity, visual perception, and brain-computer interfaces.

Alara Akcan Tunakan
Alara has completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Middle East Technical University and is now pursuing a Master’s in Neuroscience at Bilkent University. Her research interests revolve around cortical reorganization after transient visual deprivation. After completing her degree, she aims to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience and extend her studies further in the field of neuroplasticity.

Gülsüm Tuba Su
Tuba has completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Bilkent University and is now pursuing a Master’s in Neuroscience at Bilkent University. Her research interests revolve around on and off pathways in pre-term born individuals.

Şevval Neva Varol
Neva has completed her bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at TOBB University of Economics and Technology. She is now pursuing a Master’s in Neuroscience at Bilkent University. Her research interests revolve around how the adult visual cortex reorganizes itself, combining fMRI and computational approaches.

Elif Sude Bayram
Elif is a senior in Psychology at Bilkent
University. She is interested in cognitive neuroscience, particularly in
visual perception, and wants to further develop her understanding of
computational neuroscience. She plans to pursue an MSc in neuroscience.
Zeynep Eylül Öztürk
Eylül is a senior Psychology student at Bilkent University. She is interested in clinical neuropsychology and wants to study perceptual disturbances in psychological disorders after graduation. She plans to pursue an MSc in neuroscience.
Can Dora Akcan
Dora is senior Psychology student at Bilkent University with a strong interest in visual neuroscience. He aims to develop his understanding of both functional and molecular methodologies in the future. He aims to pursue an MSc in neuroscience.
